Agently for Mac

Connect your own Claude or ChatGPT plan

On Agently Pro and AppSumo Tiers 3 and 4, chats in the Mac app can run on a Claude or ChatGPT plan you already pay for. Agently supplies Jarvis's instructions and tools and keeps the conversation. Your plan runs the model. This works only in the Mac app; on the web, chats run on Smart or an Agently model.

Set it up

  1. In the Mac app, open Settings → Models.
  2. Choose the plan you want:
    • Claude runs through Claude Code on your Claude subscription.
    • ChatGPT runs through Codex on your ChatGPT subscription.
  3. Install the program if needed. If Claude Code or Codex is not on your Mac, choose install. Agently downloads the official build and checks it against its published checksum.
  4. Sign in. For Claude, choose sign in and finish in your browser. Claude Code keeps the sign-in on your Mac, and Agently never sees your password or token. For ChatGPT, sign in with your ChatGPT account.
  5. Pick a model in a chat. Open the model menu in any chat. Your plan's models appear next to Smart and Agently's models. Each chat keeps its own pick.
  6. Voice. When a plan is ready, what you ask Jarvis by voice in the Mac app runs on your plan too.
  7. Know what runs where. Routines, Needs you, work cards and Slack always run on Agently, so they keep going while your Mac sleeps. They use credits, or your workspace's own API key. See Credits and your own API key.

Troubleshooting

  • "Chats on your own Claude or ChatGPT plan are included in AppSumo Tier 3 and 4." Your tier doesn't include it. Pick Smart to use your credits, or upgrade your tier on AppSumo.
  • An approval is waiting but you got no notification. In chats on your own plan, approval cards show only in the chat. Open the chat to answer.
  • Your plan's models are missing. Check that the plan shows as ready in Settings → Models, then choose check again.
  • Claude sign-in does not finish. Choose use terminal instead and finish there.
  • A chat says you hit a usage limit. That limit comes from your own plan. Pick Smart for that chat to continue on credits.
  • You want Agently to stop using a plan. Choose disconnect. You stay signed in to Claude Code or Codex for your own use.
  • Chrome. With Jarvis can use this Mac on, Claude and ChatGPT plans can use your Chrome through their own extension. Each new site asks first.
