Routines
A routine is work Jarvis does for you on a schedule. Every Monday, send me the churn report. Every weekday, summarise new support tickets. Routines run on Agently's servers, so they keep going when your computer is off.
Routines need a paid plan. Every AppSumo tier and Agently Pro include them. On the Free tier they are saved but stay paused.
Create a routine
- Open Routines and choose New routine.
- Answer What should this routine do? in a sentence, and choose Continue. Jarvis works out the best setup.
- Review the recommendation. Jarvis explains each choice:
- Schedule, when it runs.
- Model, which AI model it uses.
- Runs: Checks first looks for anything new before doing the work and skips the run when there is nothing, or Every time.
- Approval: Ask before sending makes it wait for you before anything reaches other people.
- Daily limit: No limit, or a number of credits a day.
- The cost, shown as about how many credits a day or a run.
- Change anything you like, or choose Reset to recommended. Then choose Create routine.
You can also ask Jarvis in a chat to set up a routine.
While it runs
- Quiet runs are skipped. With Checks first, a run with nothing new is skipped. It uses no credits, sends no notification and doesn't show in the history. The full run still happens at least once a day, on Run now, and after you change the brief.
- Daily limit. Scheduled runs past the limit are skipped, and you get a notification that the routine reached its daily limit. Run now still runs. You also get a notification if a routine uses much more than expected.
- Your own API key. If your workspace has its own Anthropic or OpenAI key, routines run on it and use no credits. See Credits and your own API key.
- Failures. A failed run sends you a notification and appears in Needs you.
Manage a routine
Open a routine to see its Overview and Run history.
- Run now runs it straight away.
- Pause schedule stops it without deleting it; Enable schedule starts it again.
- Ask before external actions is the approval switch. Turn it off only for routines that should run unattended, such as a scheduled post.
- Only the person who created a routine can change its settings, pause it or run it by hand.
Troubleshooting
- "Upgrade to a paid plan to turn on routines." Your workspace is on the Free tier. On AppSumo, check that your license is active: see AppSumo: activate your code.
- A routine didn't run. It may have been skipped because nothing was new, or because it reached its daily limit. Choose Run now to run it anyway.
- A routine is waiting for me. It is asking before sending. Approve it from the notification or from Needs you.
- A routine stopped after my credits ran out. Buy credits or add your own API key. See Credits and your own API key.
