Needs you
Needs you is everything waiting on you, in the order you would put it. It is a widget on your Canvas in Work, on the web and in the Mac app, and the Mac notch shows the same list. You can also ask Jarvis "What needs me?".
What it lists
From Agently itself:
- Approvals waiting on you.
- Your work items that are overdue or due within two days, and items that have stalled.
- Routine runs that failed in the last three days.
From the tools you connected yourself:
- Outlook mail from the last week, Slack mentions, and Linear and Jira issues assigned to you.
- Calendar invites from Google Calendar or Outlook, and items from tools such as GitHub, GitLab, HubSpot, Salesforce, Asana, Intercom, Front, Freshdesk and Confluence mentions, when you connected them.
Jarvis reads only connections that are your own. Gmail is connected for sending only, so Needs you does not read your Gmail inbox. See Connect your tools.
Jarvis judges each item from outside Agently once and leaves out what doesn't need you, such as automated mail. Nothing is lost: hidden and finished items stay in the widget's history.
How often it checks
- Things inside Agently, such as a new approval or a failed routine, appear within seconds.
- Your tools are checked about once an hour, for anyone who has opened Agently in the last two weeks.
- Check now on the widget checks your tools straight away. You can use it once every two minutes, up to 30 times a day.
- If the list hasn't been checked for over an hour, the widget says "Your list may be out of date. Check now to refresh it."
Reply with Draft reply
When someone asked you something by email or in Slack:
- Open the item and choose Draft reply. Jarvis drafts the reply. It shows "Jarvis is drafting…" while it works.
- Edit the text, or tell Jarvis what to change (for example "shorter, propose Thursday") and choose Redraft.
- Choose Send. Nothing sends until you do. Mail goes from your account in the same thread; Slack replies post in the thread as you.
Drafting uses credits, or your workspace's own API key at no credits. See Credits and your own API key. Open in chat continues the item in a chat with Jarvis.
Act on an item
Each item's menu offers Mark done, Remind me tomorrow, Next week, Dismiss, Delegate with instructions, Decline, Pin here and Open in the tool it came from. Email items also offer Mute sender.
- Reorder. Drag rows to teach Jarvis your order. The position holds for a day; the preference lasts.
- Muting. Dismissing the same sender twice mutes them. Three dismissals across one company's domain mute the domain, but never a free email domain or your own company.
- Undo. The widget's history has Restore and Unmute.
Troubleshooting
- An email I expected isn't there. Check that Outlook is connected under your own account in Brain → Sources, then choose Check now. Gmail inboxes aren't read. Look in the widget's history in case it was filtered.
- An item says to reconnect a tool. The tool's connection broke. Reconnect it in Brain → Sources.
- Check now does nothing. You may have used it in the last two minutes, or 30 times today.
- Junk keeps showing up, or real work is missing. Dismiss or mute the junk, and tell us in Get help so we can fix the ranking.
